Rules for obtaining a Russian visa for German citizens

To apply for a travel visa to Russia requires the following documents:

Original passport valid for at least 180 days and with two free pages. Printed or already stamped pages do not count.

Photo requirements. 3,5×4,5 cm photo in front of light (white or light blue) background. Please ensure neck and shoulders are clearly visible.

Bank Statement. Copy of a recent bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds.

Invitation. A confirmation of the admission of a foreign tourist from a tour operator registered in the Uniform Federal Tourist Register.

Insurance policy. Insurance policy as evidence of a foreign-accident insurance, which is valid in Russia and covers the total duration of the planned stay.
Insurance policies must include the following information:
• date of the insurance contract;
• number of the insurance policy;
• name and surname of the insured;
• information on the insurance company;
• The period of validity of the policy must cover the length of stay of the first trip in Russia when issuing a single or double visa and a multiple visa;
• Overview of insured medical services, including transportation, including the transfer in case of death.
• The minimum cover must be EUR 30 000;
• Signature of the insurer.

Confirmation of return. Certificate of merit or equivalent proof as a guarantee of the willingness to return to the State of residence. As proof of return, the following can be submitted:
• Guarantee from a German travel company
• Proof of regular income through a certificate of employment and income
• Registration of the company (commercial registration)
• Tax return or omission from the tax consultant
• Statement of account
• Pensioner’s pension / pensioner’s certificate
• Student ID / BAFöG-certificate / enrollment certificate
• Land register extract

Power of attorney. Completed and signed form.
